Important questions:
The co-founders, Hal and Denise Young, visited Nicaragua on vacation in 2006. While there, they instantly felt a connection to the country and it’s people. They knew they had to focus their efforts to provide greater opportunities for many who were struggling. They took their first group of volunteers down in 2008. Since then they have built a community center and have organized hundreds of volunteers on many many trips to the country.
The main requirement to go on the trip is a desire to connect with people and make a difference in the world. A minimum age of 12 is recommended, however, younger volunteers have made the trip on a case by case basis. No specific skill set is required, although we look to utilize any professional abilities or interests that you have.
