David Sargent earned his B. A. in History and M. A. in American History from the University of California at Davis. He spent 36 years in public education as a teacher, coach, and site principal at the elementary, middle school and high school level. He served as the Principal of Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs, California for the final 22 years of his career until his retirement in 2005. During retirement he has remained active in schools by serving annually on teams of educators from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges who are responsible for determining the accreditation status of high schools by completing three day site visitations.
In addition to his Board membership in the Worldwide Child Relief Foundation, Dave serves on the Boards of the Ponderosa High School Foundation (Co-President) and the Cameron Park Rotary Community Foundation. (Vice President) He is a member of the Rotary Club of Cameron Park. For WCRF, he has responsibility for the recruitment of College/University interns who work with the Foundation helping the community of La Calle Real in Nicaragua. He enjoys world travel and golf when not involved in his volunteer work.
