Hermes has been a “rock star” in the development of the LCR community center and it’s programs. We were first aware of Hermes when he was involved in our English program at the local secondary school. He was later one of the first community volunteers to show up to help work with us on the construction of the community center.
He also was the top candidate for the community center manager among 12 applicants. He recently graduated from the University of Leon in the area of agricultural engineering. To complete this over many years he often took the two hour chicken bus ride to Leon, where he attended school.
He has been instrumental in the development and success of all of the programs below:
- English
- La Calle Real Community Council
- Bright Water
- Aquaponic Project
- Community Center Manager
- Jt Venture Projects
- Business Development Teacher
- Micro Loan Coordinator
Hermes is one of the bright young leaders that will help take the impoverished community of La Calle Real, Nicaragua to the next level!
From an interview with Hermes:
My name is Hermes Ramón Reyes Guido. I am 23 years old and I live in La Calle Real de Tolapa. I finished my primary and secondary studies here in the community. I am currently an agriculture engineer and graduated from the National University in Leon. I have had the opportunity to be collaborating with the WCRF since 2015. Here I have been serving in the position of the center’s manager. I have also been working community groups such as the Youth Council, the Dance Team, The Community Council, and I have also been working with Bright Waters Foundation in the sanitation of the Community water. In the future I have a goal to continue collaborating in the wonderful mission of WCRF to achieve the self-sufficiency of our community.
