Juan Carlos related the following:

The feelings I had during the delivery of the compassionate packages was a mixture of joy and sadness; joy to see the faces of the people, who were benefited with a package, full of positive emotions when receiving their packages; sad to see that this year in particular the joy of the Christmas that has always been felt in the environment around these days is not the same because of the struggle that Nicaragua is suffering through. This little Christmas gift was made possible thanks to the generous collaboration of our brothers and sisters from the North through the WCRF. It is a clear testimony that we are not alone and that God is always looking out for us, we just need to have faith. Thank you Brothers and Sisterson behalf of everyone here in the community of Calle Real de Tolapa.

Dania Gomez’s comments:

When we delivered the Christmas packages to the selected people of the
LCR community, there were moments of emotion and great joy both for the
people who received them as well as for me to observe the gestures of thanksgiving to God and to the North American brothers and sisters represented by the WCRF here in Nicaragua, who generously made this little great gesture of compassion for our less fortunate brothers a reality, made a profound impact on my heart, and frankly I have no words to express to you brothers the gratitude on my behalf and on behalf of all the beneficiaries, that is why I will just say: thank you God, thank you Don Hal, thank you WCRF, God bless you.

WCRF Works at Shaping the Mindset of the Community Council

Dec 10, 2018

Having built the community center and electing members of the La Calle Real City Council, WCRF has shifted their focus towards training the council towards understanding the importance of representing other’s in their daily decisions. Council meetings have been conducted by Juan Carlos Munguia Rubio and David Lewis, teaching the values of random acts of kindness and the fulfillment that is found through serving others, especially those in the community who are not family members or close friends. Our goal is to reach out to those in desperate need, who otherwise were left without hope. The meetings were well attended and received. It is the hope of WCRF that these leaders will represent for the common good of everyone in the community. These lessons could well prove to be one of the most important cornerstones in WCRF’s commitment to teach others to help themselves. The leadership classes will be an integral part of many of the upcoming community council meetings.

Program Description

Juan plans to hold a meeting with the Community Council to teach and instill the value of “Giving back to the Community” to it’s members. WCRF recognizes that the only path towards success for our program is if others embrace the concepts of doing things for the common good. With the proper training, we are confident that the council will develop a philosophy towards helping others to help themselves.

The training consists of three parts:
1. Importance of a good leadership in order to reach self-sustainability in the community.
2. We receive what we give.
3. We serve ourselves by serving other.
After the training the Community Council will have its regular monthly meeting.
