La Calle Real Clean Water Project

In an effort to test water sources and educate the community on clean water techniques, Worldwide Child Relief has joined Bright Water Foundation to support the community to promote clean drinkable water for their families. This will also promote and enhance better community health. Below are the basic steps to initiate this program:

1.    A group of La Calle Real community members teamed up with Bright Water to survey water sources throughout the community in 2016.

2.    The team surveyed and tested various water resources of the community, such as wells and other water supplies for harmful bacteria. Data was gathered and it was determined that there is high degree of water sources that had harmful bacteria.

3.    In April of 2017, a team was formed from the community with representatives from each barrio from La Calle Real to help educate and offer solutions to promote clean water to families in their respective barrios.

4.    The team will start detailed training in June of 2017.

5.    The team and individual representatives in each barrio hope to make visits to each family to help educate, and make them aware of clean water techniques.

6.    This program if completed and implemented will improve family and community health.
