The English program in La Calle Real targets many different ages, from younger elementary age school kids to young adults attending the University. The focus of the program is to develop conversational skills in English that prepare students for jobs where English is either a requirement, or a skill that will make them more desirable for a position. A basic knowledge of English, along with English conversational skills, increases employment opportunities and earning power. Our program seeks to develop these English skills as a means to provide more opportunities for self sustainability.
Program Update:
Right now three different English courses are being taught.
1. Classes twice a week in the elementary school at the beginning level.
2. Classes to a small group of advanced students for 4 hours a week.
3. Classes to a small group of beginning students on Saturdays.
In January we hope to deliver additional resources to expand the program.
